There are a few obvious things missing (how do I manage bookmarks??) but download, installation, and setup took about one minute, total. The subtleties are what set it apart:

Page loads appear in the lower left corner, as needed
URL’s are given a visual hierarchy so the domain is prominent
Tab movements are given nice easing
The overall lack of UI “chrome”
Combing search with the address field

That last aspect is probably my favorite, and took me a second to discover. I frequently use the keyboard shortcut Command + L (Mac) to enter a new URL, and can now access search the same way. Not having to mouse over to a separate search field is nice. Try it out.

Haven’t listened to the whole thing yet, but it sounds great. I personally think Portland trumps Seattle in many respects, and the cycling culture is far more welcoming.

Most of the work that I’m involved with at frog involves strategic programs that won’t be visible publicly for 2-3 years (if at all). This makes it nearly impossible to share what I’m working on.

I’m excited to see that some of the work that I was a part of in Austin earlier this year is seeing the light of day. Zooming in provides a tiny screenshot of the software I worked on. Here’s a better image.

There are things we’ve been doing for almost all of human history almost everywhere that we don’t want to do now…we kept other humans as slaves and we treated women as second class citizens, and we don’t do it anymore. We overcame it, and when we look back at those things that we did, we look back with shame… and I think the farming system we have now… the dominant kind of farming system, the kind that produces 99% of the animals we eat, is something that we are going to look back on with shame.
